This project began a year or two before I shot the first photograph for it, after my wife found an absolute wonder of a book ”Ugly postcards” depicting boring and mundane environments on postcards in a thrift store.
That book and poems by Swedish poet Bruno K Öijer got me thinking about the Swedish vemod, a special kind of darker melancholy. The final inspiration came from a lot of dark music I like listening to like The Doors, Leonard Cohen and Swedish artist Thåström.
